My skincare secrets for great skin in 5 easy steps

Hi guys,

Today’s post is all about how to care for your skin and keep your skin in good condition as well as getting that summer glow everyone wants without spending heaps of money.

As everyone is unique with different skin issues and types in this post I will try my best to aim tips to suit all.

I will be telling you about: how to brighten up dull and tired skin; how to avoid oily skin;  how to add elasticity and plumpness to your skin; how to minimise pores and finally how to get rid of those pesky dark under eye bags.

Step 1:


First you will need a clean face.

In order to clean my face I use Bioderma which is a lightweight micellar water. I simply squeeze a few pumps onto a cotton pad and wipe my face clean.

You may need two or three Bioderma soaked pads depending on how dirty your face is or how much makeup you have on.

– I’m sure you have heard about Bidoerma many times before, it’s great!

Step 2:


Wash your face again using either a foaming face wash if you have oily skin or a smooth balm if you have dry skin.

For oily skin I would recommend: Neutrogena’s – visibly Clear pink grapefruit face wash.

This is a great facial wash which leaves you face feeling squeaky clean whilst minimising the look of pores. Simply lather the soap onto your skin and wash away with warm water.

For dry skin I would recommend: Liz Earl’s hot cloth cleanse and polish.

This is a great cleanser which melts away any remaining dirt on your face. Simply rub the balm into your face and wipe off with a muslin cloth soaked in warm water.

Step 3:

Time to add elasticity and brightness to your dull and tired skin.

This is quite a different and definitely natural approach to getting rid of tired and dull skin but I promise you this works.

Crack open one egg making sure that you separate the yolk from the white.

Next, apply the egg white to your skin and relax for 10-15 minutes whilst the egg white dries.

– You will know when the mask is dry because you won’t be able to move your face much!

After 15 minutes wash your face using a cloth soaked with warm water.

Step 4:


Time to moisturise your skin.

I like to use La Roche Posay’s Effaclar Duo+ moisturiser.

This moisturiser is said to help correct the appearance of imperfections and blemishes and it advises you to use it every morning and evening which I do and I can honestly tell you that I have noticed a huge difference in my skin.

Step 5:


Apply one pea sized amount of YES to’s grapefruit dark circle correcting eye cream on each ring finger and lightly blend in the cream under your eyes.

  • Don’t put the cream too close to your eyes. Stay about 1cm away from your eye directly.


That’s it! My five easy steps to brightening up your dull and tired skin whilst using both organic and natural products which are good for the world and great for your skin too!

Lauren’s Top Tip – Maintain a good habit of basic cleansing and moisturising your skin. Once a week routinely deep cleanse and exfoliate your skin.
